Up to $100,000 per year in tax credits for young companies located in a Keystone Innovation Zone, based on the increase in gross revenue over the prior year. The credits are transferable and can be sold for cash, making them effectively non-dilutive funding for pre-profit start-ups.

Who can apply

Company must be less than eight years old, located within the geographic boundaries of a designated Keystone Innovation Zone, and operating in a targeted industry sector for that zone. Credits are awarded on year-over-year gross revenue growth, so a company with no revenue growth receives nothing.
How to apply
- Confirm the company is physically located within a designated Keystone Innovation Zone
- Register in the DCED Single Application for Assistance system
- Apply during the annual window with gross revenue figures for the two prior years
- If awarded, either apply the credit against Pennsylvania tax liability or sell it through an approved broker
