State income tax credit for angel and other investors in certified advanced industry businesses: 25% of the investment (35% if the business is in an enterprise zone or rural county), up to a maximum credit of $100,000, on investments of $10,000 or more. The credit pool is $4,000,000 per calendar year, reduced to $2.5M from 2027. Startups use it to attract investors.

Investee must be an entity (not an individual) in an advanced industry, HQ in Colorado or at least 50% of employees in Colorado, registered with the Colorado Secretary of State, under $10 million raised from third-party investors since formation, and either annual revenue under $5 million or revenue-generating for under five years. Investors must be unaffiliated, hold under 10% fully diluted and invest at least $10,000.
How to apply
- Business completes the Investee Pre-Certification and then the Investee Certification in the OEDIT portal. — link
