Open Innovation is NIA's flagship recurring grant and reopens in multiple rounds each Thai fiscal year (October to September). Register on mis.nia.or.th to be notified of the next call.

Grant of up to THB 1.5 million per project covering up to 75% of project cost, for developing an innovation prototype through to commercial readiness. Project duration is typically up to 12 months.

Who can apply

Thai-registered juristic person with at least 51% Thai shareholding. The innovation must be new to Thailand and the applicant must be able to fund at least 25% of the project cost.

How to apply

  1. Register a company account on the NIA MIS portal.
  2. Submit a concept paper describing the innovation and market.
  3. If the concept is accepted, submit the full proposal with budget and workplan.
  4. Expert committee review and pitch.
  5. Contract signing and milestone-based disbursement, with the company funding its share up front.
