NASA publishes Phase I as 'Up to $225,000' (SBIR 6 months, STTR 13 months) - the 2025 selections were made at $150,000 each, so the actual figure varies by solicitation year. Phase II is 'Up to $1,275,000' over 24 months for both SBIR and STTR, plus 'up to $50,000 in Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) funds'. NASA's ceilings sit below the SBA guideline maxima.

Standard SBIR/STTR eligibility: US for-profit small business concern, 500 or fewer employees including affiliates, majority owned and controlled by US citizens or permanent residents. STTR requires a partnering US research institution. NASA awards are contracts, so SAM.gov registration with a Unique Entity ID and CAGE code is mandatory, plus registration in the SBA Company Registry.
