Announced annually via a NOFO on Grants.gov and eda.gov. The FY2024 round closed 28 October 2024 and, as of 14 August 2026, no successor NOFO was listed among EDA's open opportunities - EDA directs prospective applicants to 'sign up for EDA's newsletter' for 'any future funding opportunities'.
Award sizes and the matching share are set in each annual Notice of Funding Opportunity and are not published as a standing figure on the current EDA programme page. Historically B2S has run Venture Challenge and Capital Challenge tracks with a statutory 1:1 non-federal match, but that should be confirmed against the live NOFO before relying on it.

IMPORTANT: B2S grants go to intermediary organisations - accelerators, universities, economic development organisations, venture funds and non-profits - not directly to startups. EDA states B2S 'grants fund programs that support innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups transforming ideas into the critical, emerging technologies of the future' and that EDA 'does not provide grants to individuals'. Startups benefit through the accelerators and capital-formation programmes these grants stand up. Applicants must be registered in SAM.gov with a Unique Entity ID.
