Government co-invests alongside independent, qualified third-party investors. SSGE investment cap for each deep tech startup is S$12 million. Co-investment ratio (SGGC/SGI : co-investor), as of 27 Feb 2026: 2:1 up to the first S$1 million; 1:1 thereafter up to S$4 million; 1:2 thereafter up to S$8 million; 1:3 thereafter up to S$12 million. A growth-stage direct investment route and a fund-of-funds route (minimum investee fund size S$30 million) also exist.

A Singapore-based startup means a Singapore-registered private limited company incorporated for 10 years or less that develops or possesses innovations in Singapore. Focus domains: Advanced Manufacturing; Pharmbio/MedTech; Agrifood Tech; Sustainability (energy, circular economy, urban mobility); Spacetech; and Smart Nation and Digital Economy deep tech areas (quantum tech, cybersecurity, generative AI). Growth-stage direct investment requires prior substantial institutional capital and at least one other institutional investor in the round.
