For 2026 the maximum funding per project is EUR 3,000,000. Funding is a mix of grant and loan; the FFG page states support of up to 70% of project costs for startups plus a 5% bonus for high-tech startups, and loan repayment falls due five years after project completion.

Open to 'all company sizes - including startups (companies in formation)'. Projects must show high commercial potential and technical sophistication.

- Scope an R&D project with high commercial potential, running through to prototype stage. — link

- Submit at any time via the FFG eCall portal; FFG evaluates and offers a grant/loan mix. — link
